Captive breeding for conservation.

Criar en cautividad para conservar.

Habitat loss and degradation, climate change, exploitation and illegal trade, invasive species and pollution are some of the factors that threaten and endanger species.

Addressing these problems and taking action to conserve ecosystems and protect biodiversity is essential to ensure the survival of endangered species.

We will explore the role of zoos and aquariums in the protection of endangered species, as well as the functioning of the German Society for Herpetology and Herpetoculture.

We will also address the need to educate and raise awareness of the endangered status of some species, and discuss possible measures that can be taken by government administrations.

To assess whether captive breeding can help to increase the population of these species and prevent their extinction, we will have the perspective of three experts.
